Copenhagen is a city known for old world grandeur, sleek Nordic design and just a bit of whimsy thanks to the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. When looking for a place to base my Danish adventures I wanted a place that incorporated all of these elements. I’ve long been a fan boutique hotels and feel that a hotel that is characteristic of the destination always adds to the experience. If I’m staying in a larger city I also look for a hotel that’s away from the tourist fray but close enough to walk to all the major attractions. I foundΒ one hotel in Copenhagen that met all of my wishes–the Hotel Kong Arthur.
Tucked away down a quiet cobblestone alley alongΒ Copenhagen’s peaceful inner lakes, the Hotel Kong Arthur is near the bohemian neighborhood of Norreboro and the bustling Tollerhavrne food hall. The iconic canals atΒ Nyhaven, the Royal Residences at Amelienborg Palace and the lively Tivoli Gardens are all within a 20 minute walk. The Norreport train and metro stations are 5 minutes away putting the rest of Copenhagen and Denmark at your fingertips. Upon arriving I quickly noticed the electric vehicle charging stations, just one of the ways the Hotel Kong Arthur is committed to sustainability; in fact the hotel has been carbon neutral since 2007 and was the first hotel group on the world to do so.
The lobby is a mix of Scandinavian modern with a touch of medieval and 100% cozy. Intimate tables and cushy sofas overlook a sunny courtyardΒ while a medieval knight stands watch in the corner.Β Guests of the Hotel Kong Arthur are invited to enjoy complimentary wine and snacks each evening during Cozy Hour. This is yet another of the many ways the hotel embodies the Danish sense of hygge, or “creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good peopleβ.
Upon checking in I was pleasantly surprised to find I’d been upgraded to a spa suite. A dedicated elevator brought me up to the fourth floor, where soothing music filled theΒ hallways and there was a light scent of jasmine in the air. I opened my door to find I’d traded the clean lines of Denmark for the sumptuous hues of Bali. The room was richly decorated in javaΒ and violet with large windows allowing for plenty of natural light. The spacious bathroom features a stand up shower and a deep jetted tub as well as signature spa toiletries.
Also included with the spa suite is complimentary access to the facilities at the adjoiningΒ Ni’mat Spa, the largestΒ spa in Copenhagen.Β Tranquil Asian-inspired decor immediatelyΒ put me at ease while the friendly staff made sure my every need was met. The spa’s main feature is a two-story hot tub with a starlit ceiling dubbed the water temple. The spa is also filled with peaceful nooks boasting Balinese loungers and a seemingly endless supply of ginger tea. I was quick to make use of the spa’s amenities on my first day; a few hours spent in sauna, soaking in the water temple and sipping tea was the perfect antidote to my trans-Atlantic jet lag.
After a peaceful night’s rest I was excited to try the Kong Arthur’s extensive organic breakfast buffet. Soft boiled eggs done just until the yolk is set, sausages and a wide array of fine European meats and cheeses greeted me in the sunny breakfast room each morning. My favorite item was the organic yogurt topped with rhubarb compote, which I’d then top with the hotel’s signature hazelnut granola. Let’s not forget about the pastries either, because frankly any day that starts with a chocolate croissant is going to be a good day.
The Hotel Kong Arthur has everything I look for in a hotel; charming rooms, a great location and a fantastic breakfast but what really makes the hotel great is the staff who made me feel welcome each time I walked through the door. This welcoming spirit along with with its quiet location near the inner lakes makes the Hotel Kong Arthur a great choice for your next visit to Copenhagen.

I love your approach to fighting jet lag! Often the best remedy is a bit of time, a bit of relaxation, a nice soak and some gorgeous tea! The breakfast bar looks fantastic too. I think having a hearty breakfast is great for the first few days of travel – kills the jet lag, gets you going, gives you energy to explore.

Wow!
This is something very amazing I got.
The pictures really seems to be very attractive and seems like luxury hotel.
I must say that the first thing to remember, is that hotel prices are not always the same. The easiest method is that of the rooms.
There are often different kinds of rooms at hotels, and some are cheaper options than others.
The main feature that really makes a luxury hotel though is undoubtedly, the dΓ©cor and some of the interiors are truly astounding.
I really like the color combination in the room .
Thumbs up to your blog buddy!
A big thanks to you .
Keep doing good work.
God Bless U! π
