When in Charlottesville, my wife and I enjoy visiting the wineries in the area. We have been to 8 of the ones you mentioned and enjoyed all of them. Another one you should check out is Horton Vineyards in Gordonsville.

Ahh, I just love the Blue Ridge Mountains and the surrounding area! Growing up on the East Coast, I was spoiled with such epic views and definitely would love to visit more frequently and explore more here! Considering I visited VA mainly when I was a kid, I had no idea there were more than 30 wineries in Charlottesville - wow. We sure do love our wine now and seems like we'll need to visit sometime . I think Barboursville Vineyards (for the ruins) and Blenheim Winery would be my first stops, but these all sound fabulous! Thanks for sharing. Xx Sara

Im from Virginia and have thoroughly explored the wineries around the Shenandoah, however I haven’t made it out to the Charlottesville wineries yet. I’ve heard of Veritas before, but all the others are new to me. Would love to do a little winery tour and spend a few days visiting all these vineyards!

There are so many unique wineries to choose from, I wouldn’t know where to start! I haven’t been to any in the states yet, but this area looks like a good place to start.

I am proud to say I’ve been to all of these except for Thatch, which I haven’t even heard of!! Guess I should remedy that ASAP lol. King Family is definitely a favorite of mine, and I love how Early Mountain actually showcases wines from all over the place.
