My parents live in Asheville, and I went back a few years ago as an adult to see the city through much-better-traveled eyes… Was very surprised to see just how much culture and food / drink was around… Good to see Raleigh catching up (though for all I know, Raleigh’s passed Asheville by…)

That does sound like a perfect weekend! Raleigh hasn’t been on my radar, but it sounds like I need to change that. It has everything I look for in a getaway – in particular, great restaurants & craft breweries, fun shops and notable museums. I especially love the concept of A Place at the Table!

I have to admit until I read your post, I had not even heard about Raleigh but it does seem like a cool place to explore. Its coffee culture looks great. I would definitely like to try the espresso old fashioned at Sir Walters Coffee. Its bitters and an orange twist is my kinda thing

I have never heard of Raleigh before reading your post. I haven’t been to the US yet, but it seems like a great place for a weekend gateway. I like staying in a spacious room when I travel. you have lovely photos of food. All the dishes look so yummy

My friends used to call me to visit them at Raleigh when I was in the US. I kept postponing as I thought there was nothing much to do. Now I am back home and I find there are so many reasons to visit this city 🙁
